When you're raising little ones, life is a beautiful blur of sticky hands, belly laughs, and moments that fly by way too fast. This relaxed family photography session in East Vancouver was the kind that makes my heart happy. It was simple, personal, and full of everyday magic.
We started the afternoon on their back deck, where mom and dad were gardening while their 4-year-old daughter helped water plants and talk to the flowers (as one does 💛). Their 9-month-old baby boy was close by, taking it all in with wide eyes, chewing on a watering can, and babbling at his big sister. It was slow, sweet, and completely them.
After some time at home, we headed out for a walk around their neighbourhood—the same streets they stroll almost every day. We passed shops, peeked into community gardens, and let the kids take the lead. That’s one of my favourite parts of these sessions: they feel like a memory in the making. Not staged or forced, just a little window into what life feels like right now.
